Brand New Page on Squidoo - Knott's Berry Farm

Like the Wilson's Creek Battlefield page, my newest one is one that I am really proud of. We are buying season tickets to Knott's Berry Farm which sent me back to the past. This is the one place that is full of family memories from my childhood. We are talking 60 years of memories. I am totally happy with this one and see that there is so much more to add. Can't wait until I find all my pictures.

New lenses from challenges

I haven't posted here in a while. I started a new blog called "Completely California" and have been adding all the lenses that deal with museums, attractions and anything else California that I have written. I also included my articles on Helium which gives me quite a long list. I have also written some new lenses that I am really pleased with. There was a challenge that asked for a book review. Exodus by Leon Uris was my entry into the challenge. Which not a total review because that would mean that I would have to provide "spoilers", I still think it's a good review of the book. I decided to corral all my Vintage Trailer lenses. I was surprised how many I really have. The newest favorite is the one I wrote on the Wilson's Creek Civil War Battlefield. I have great pictures and am really happy with the way it turned out.

How hard is it to write a Halloween article?

Halloween is a saturated field but I am trying to complete a quest for Squidoo. I can't find a single thing to write about. I have done three of the five and am at a total loss.

Passing for White

Passing for White is one of my newer Squidoo lenses. It has been almost 50 years since my best friend passed away and the story has stayed with me. I decided that it was time to write it down and was surprised how fresh it still seemed.

Taking on more than I think I have time for

I have taken on the role of Channel Manager for Parenting and Pregnancy on Helium. I am not unsure of why I did that. I want to help the channel grow and become better but I have also taken on the role of homeschooling parent. I still want to play on Squidoo because I know that I will never really make any money there. I miss the paying job. I also want to work on another project but just don't seem to have the time to even start.

Still catching up

Just finished the last fundraising article on the Student Store and posted it on the Elementary School Fundraising blog along with the others that were rewritten. The project on Helium is complete so I am not making any more money. Now I have to find articles that pay and compete with others. Out of the three that I have done, two were accepted and paid while the third was not. The competition is good for me.

Time to catch up

I have not taken the time to keep up with this blog. I have been sidetracked by a writing assignment on Helium where I am making enough money to support my vacation this year. We will be homeschooling our grandson next year and the trip to Missouri to visit family will also give us a chance to learn more about American History.

I am also have to rewrite all my eHow articles as I did not move to Demand Media and all of my articles were deleted. Since it leaves me with quite a few dead links on the other sites where I write, it is important to take those articles and recreate them on Squidoo.

I did rewrite my favorite, How to escape from Godzilla, which I am very proud of and it can be found on the link to Wordstock's Lensography if you are interested.

I'm a Giant Squid

I know, blah, blah, blah but it's a big deal. It means that I have created 50 lenses that are good. I am a good writer and getting better everyday. I am now up to 70 lenses and my goal before April is 100. Then I will apply for the 100 club. Helium is going well but I need to pick up the pace. I have slacked off and that's not good for me either. Both sites are very different and both challenge me in different ways. I am writing local guides and have decided to stretch my comfort zone by writing to areas in different states. They require a lot of research but I need to learn that as well.

Baseball season has started and so it's killing my time. I wish I had a laptop with wireless but that has to wait. I will have to learn better time management skills and that won't hurt me.
